Beetlebung’s Rorschach Lobster Turns Up in New Mexico
We recently received this photo from a fan, taken during a vacation to Taos, New Mexico. The shirt in question is our Men’s Rorschach Lobster.
Speaking of Taos — we also appropriated that name for my favorite Beetlebung panini (full disclosure: I add onion).

Would you like to see yourself on here? We’d love to have you! Email your photos to: ca [at] beetlebung [dot] com.

Beetlebung wins Best Advertising Campaign at NENPA
Beetlebung is honored to have been named the “Best Advertising Campaign” of 2009 at the New England Newspaper & Press Awards (NENPA) earlier this month! The campaign ran in the Vineyard Gazette, so the award fell under “Weekly Class 2″. Below, you can read what the NENPA judges said about our campaign as well as view photos of last week’s Vineyard Gazette ad regarding the awards, which included 1.5 examples of our ads.
The use of a creatively-cropped, dominant art element in each ad helps this series jump off the page. The layout and theme are very consistent from one ad to the next, so important in a campaign. The headline, fonts and placement of web address are consistent as well. The headlines not only supported the art element, but were fun  Rorschach Lobster and Rogue, especially. Great use of white space.

Photo Shoot, 9.23.09
The model, Milena:

We began shooting at South Beach. To kick things off, Milena was given some toys:

It was beautiful day September but the wind was howling. Always a gentleman, I lent Milena my sweatshirt.

(Full Disclosure: not my sweatshirt.)
With South Beach all but deserted, we were killing the beach shots. So we headed to West Tisbury, where we parked at the Public Library, dodged a few cars on State Road, and navigated the poison ivy.

After avoiding a few more cars on & a lot of geese poop around Old Millpond, we said “goodbye” to Alley’s & headed for Beetlebung Corner, where the leaves were just beginning to change color.

Our final location was Squibnocket. We were greeted by Derby fishermen, a roaming dog, and – for the first time that afternoon – the sun. With the shadows growing and all participants tired & irritable, we managed to take a few more photos.

Check out all of the photos we kept from the shoot here.
